Culinary technique - Marinating

Culinary technique

Marinating is the process of immersing an ingredient in a seasoned liquid composed of oil, an acidic element and aromatics, allowing time for flavours to penetrate.

Technique:

Marinating in 3 Steps

  1. Prepare the marinade
Combine a base of oil and an acid (such as citrus juice, vinegar, or plant-based yogurt) with herbs, spices, and optional ingredients like garlic, onion, soy sauce or others.
  2. Add the product
Place the vegetables or other plants in the marinade, making sure everything is well coated. Use a sealed bowl or bag for best results.
  3. Let it rest
Refrigerate and allow the flavours to infuse: from just a few minutes (for delicate vegetables) up to several hours (for firmer vegetables).
