Culinary Technique - Teppanyaki
Vegetables prepared on a teppanyaki are really tasty. This Japanese cooking technique that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word Teppanyaki is derived from yaki which means grilling, pan-frying or broiling, and teppan which means an iron griddle. It actually originates from the United States where it is served for frying hamburgers.
But let’s just stick to vegetables. Firstly, you cut them in the desired shapes. Then, you cook them shortly in boiled water so that they stay crunchy and finally cook them on the teppan. You should see those Japanse chefs rule the teppan by the way, they are the masters in this technique.
