At BBB Maastricht, the book Radilicious 2 was officially launched on the 6th of October — a powerful statement about where gastronomy stands today and where it is heading.

Gastronomy is no longer just about refinement and technique, but about something deeper: a cuisine that serves the future.

Guided by the theme Serving the Future of Food, We’re Smart World brings together chefs who cook with vision — chefs who believe that true gastronomy is sustainable, healthy and socially conscious, and that flavour gains true meaning when it gives something back to people and society.

A book that inspires and connects

For Radilicious 2, Frank Fol, founder of We’re Smart World, selected twenty European top chefs who each shape the future of gastronomy in their own unique way.

What unites them is not only their love for flavour, but their belief that tomorrow’s cuisine must have purpose — for people, for nature, and for society.

Each chef in the book has their own motivation for cooking more consciously and plant-forward. Some are driven by the pursuit of health and vitality, others by sustainability or social engagement.

Together, they show that gastronomy today is not only about refinement — but about responsibility: caring for what we eat, and for those who make it possible.

The stories were written by Mieke De Vylder, who captures with empathy and precision the personal drive and unique approach of each chef, while Wim Demessemaekers’ photography brings their world to life — pure, honest and full of wonder.

Alongside the portraits, the chefs share over one hundred gastronomic creations in which vegetables, herbs and natural flavours take centre stage.

Radilicious 2 is much more than a cookbook — it is a celebration of passion, vision and mastery by chefs who use their craft to make a difference.

The publication was realised in partnership with GREENYARD and in collaboration with UNTOLD BOOKS, the impact-driven publisher that brings to life stories that truly matter.

A heartfelt tribute to De Librije

A special moment during the launch was the tribute to Jonnie Boer of De Librije.

Frank Fol, founder of We’re Smart World, presented the very first copy of Radilicious 2 to Thérèse Boer — a quiet gesture of respect and gratitude for their shared, profound influence on modern gastronomy.

It was a visibly emotional moment in the room and perfectly captured what Radilicious stands for: a book about people who bring flavour to the future.
