Dirk Ver Heyen has 1.5 hectares of gardens in which he grows an extensive range of vegetables, fruit and herbs. For example, he has around 30 different types of tomatoes annually, as well as lesser-known types of cabbage, numerous lettuce varieties, green and white asparagus and oriental vegetables. The choice of vegetarian suggestions is worth the detour alone. Potiron was awarded in 2009 as the best vegetable children's restaurant, for its child-friendliness and vegetable preparations for children.
