We’re Smart Green Guide 2026: Fine Dining meets sustainability
Four chefs, one table: today, LA MAISON Hotel & Spa in Saarlouis became the meeting point for top-level pure plant gastronomy.
In cooperation with WE'RE SMART® WORLD, LA MAISON invited four of Germany’s highest-awarded chefs from the We’re Smart Green Guide 2026 to cook together:
- Sebastian Sandor (La Maison, Saarlouis)
- Ricky Saward (Seven Swans, Frankfurt)
- Sebastian Frank (Horváth, Berlin)
- Timo Fritsche (La Vie by Thomas Bühner, Düsseldorf)
In addition to a 100% plant-based four-course menu, Frank Fol, founder of We’re Smart World, and Gil Dumarey, Sales & Events Manager at We’re Smart World, presented the Green Guide 2026. Each year, the guide recognizes restaurants around the world that embrace plant-based cuisine with minimal ecological impact — values that are also reflected in Saarland’s commitment to sustainability.
Jürgen Barke, Minister of Economic Affairs
“Saarland is a pioneer in sustainable tourism and the first destination in Germany to receive a sustainability certification. A special focus is placed on gastronomy, which is strengthened through regional value creation, short supply chains, and the use of products from the Biosphere Reserve.
Travellers are increasingly seeking authentic, climate-friendly culinary experiences that strengthen local identity while preserving resources — and that is exactly what they find here. Through the partnership between Saarland and the We’re Smart Green Guide, we aim to make sustainability even more visible together.”
