The Rice Grain
Take what you eat, respect the growers!
Sometimes I have a hard time with people that do not respect food! Food does not just end up on your plate, it takes a whole journey from field to fork. Growers, Farmers and many other Involved Parties work hard to get it to you or to the Processors.
Producers and Cooks - yes, always with a capital letter because they deserve it - do their very best to serve you a tasty plate and hopefully in a healthy way. And then you see during events, ‘all you can eat’ concepts or in hotels that guests create their own buffet on their table and then eat only part of it. The rest then sadly goes straight into the bin or in best case to feed the animals.
This really really pisses me off!
Many parts of the world would be happy to get that loss of food to feed their population. But there is more, it is the disrespect towards food that upsets me immensely, the decadence, it is not because you have money to spend that you have the right to behave like an "oligarch".
A great example is the grain of rice. When you see what a grower must do to get it on your plate makes that every grain of rice counts and deserves the respect of being useful and feed someone.
So, stop throwing away food, have on your plate what you want to eat, you can always take more later if you want.
We at We’re Smart we think that nature and humanity deserve that respect.
