Dear Friends, Radishes Chefs, We’re Smart restaurants, our dear partners, the international media and supporters,
2025 was a great year for We’re Smart World. The We’re Smart Movement is still growing! I would like to thank you all for this.
This means that we are following the general rules more and more strictly, which sometimes results in shifts in the radishes rankings and positions in We’re Smart TOP 100.
We now have 30 international active inspectors and 15 people who point out vegetables restaurants to us, whether new or not.
And we can still grow because we are still in talks with around 10 potential inspectors who could be brought on board.
As you know, most of them are listed transparently on the We're Smart World website, under We're Smart team.
I personally take new potential inspectors to a pure plant restaurant to train them and teach them how to assess as uniformly as possible.
We have created an online platform where inspectors can fill in and save their reports in a uniform manner. These reports are then sent to me centrally and are critically reviewed again from a general international perspective so that every country is treated in the same way.
As Gil said, Amsterdam, Davos, Osaka, Tokyo, Vestial Almeria, Rotterdam, Ghent, Valencia, and others were highlights this year, but I am especially proud of the launch of our second Radilicious book in collaboration with UNTOLD PUBLISHING.
Twenty reports, each offering different insights, each bringing five 100% pure plant signature dishes and beautiful images by our resident photographer Wim Demessemaekers.
This edition of the Radilicious book is published in 6,000 copies in four languages: Italian, English, French, and Dutch.
This project could only succeed thanks to the dedication and commitment of you, the five Radishes chefs and restaurants, and our like-minded Emerald partner, Greenyard Group. Once again, thank you all for your participation and loyalty.
I would like to invite the creators, in text and images, Mieke Devylder and Wim Demessemaekers, to come up on stage and share their experiences from their trips through Spain, Italy, Benelux, and the UK. We are considering organising a third edition of Radilcious in 2027, which will also go outside Europe to Japan and Peru.
If you are a 5 Radishes restaurant and are interested in participating in the third edition, please let us know! We will start preparations tomorrow. Thank you, Mieke and Wim, for your fantastic work, your commitment and your belief in the We're Smart Movement.
I would also like to take advantage of this momentum before we conclude the We're Smart Award Show 2025 to announce that in 2026, for the launch of We're Smart Green Guide, we will be heading to Bruges, the fantastic culinary and historical city in Flanders, Belgium. We will organise a 2 days program, even 3 days if you want to know more about this beautiful city & region…
