The event took place on Thursday, May 21, at the CdT Marina Alta Tourism Centre in Dénia, in collaboration with the GASTERRA Mediterranean Gastronomy Centre UA-Dénia and several companies from the agri-food sector.
The opening ceremony, held at 10:15 a.m., featured the participation of Vicent Grimalt, Mayor of Dénia; Magdalena García Irles, representing the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Alicante; Juana Dolores Jordá, Director of Gasterra; Floren Terrades, Director of Dénia UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy; and Miquel Ángel Ivars, Director of C.E.E. Under the theme “Flavours of Yesterday, Cuisine of Today, Culture of Tomorrow”, this year’s conference offers a much broader scope than previous editions, both in terms of topics and speakers. The organizers highlight as keynote speakers Frank Fol, internationally renowned chef and promoter of the We’re Smart® gastronomic movement in Belgium, and Miguel Sánchez Romera, neurogastronomist and chef specializing in the creation of emotions through culinary experiences.
Other confirmed participants include Antonio del Saz, Director of the Fundación Ingenio / Fundación Cellbite Almería, and Carmen Cano, Managing Director of the Almería-based company Eurosol.
